Bengal Tigers Tamed!

The first team recorded an excellent victory over the auld enemy Bengal Tigers, by 5 goals to 2. Rich Jackson and Aziz Rahman opened their accounts following long throws from the mighty Geordie Twiz. AJ added two more before Rich Day bagged his first of the season to make it 5-2. The ressies suffered a 5-1 defeat, the first half was marred by a serious collision between the Torps centre half and keeper, resulting in the defender being wiped out of the game. There was nothing to choose between the teams until two moments of defensive madness just before HT gifted Torps a two goal lead. In the second half the ressies pushed forward allowing the Torps long ball tactics to come to the fore and they added three more goals. Shaun Giles notched the consolation.

 Mini League 2016/17

 Mixed weekend for vets

The 35's and Recliners both played this weekend. The new Isaacs/Quinn era for the 35's began with a tough game against league champions PaS Masters in the cup. Facing a suspiciously young opposition Retainers put up a great fight before eventually going down 5-3. Meanwhile at BAWA, also in the cup, Recliners faced Russell Athletic. With Shaun Giles reffing the game, Recliners gifted the opposition two goals inside the first ten minutes. However the tide soon turned and Recliners became dominant. Nearey pulled on back before HT and Steve Phillips glanced in a corner to make it 2-2 after the break. Cue the introduction of another supersub, as the injured Westy came off the bench, scored two and left the pitch again ten minutes later. Nearey added the fifth before a late consolation for them at the death.
